Would you like to have an outdoor classroom?

The LaPorte County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) encourages the development and utilization of outdoor conservation education.  Funding is provided for environmental outdoor labs or conservation projects for schools, scouts or other clubs.  This is an exciting opportunity to bring conservation, environmental, and agricultural skills to life.

Grants are usually given in the amount of $500, but the amount of funding varies from year to year.

Past projects have included wetlands projects, outdoor wildlife viewing pavilions and native plant gardens. If you need assistance with your project ideas, please do not hesitate to contact us!

Deadline for submission is Friday, March 20th, 2009. Contact Nicole Messacar at (219) 362-6633, ext. 3 for more information.
